And that's a wrap. Last couple of days in Tokyo was spent at gachapon and vending machines and old school gaming peripheral and ephemera stores.

A much more chill day after the madness that was Tokyo Disneyland. We did Teamlab Planets and checked out Odaiba and surrounding areas. Small Worlds was a real highlight.

Yesterday was a travel day. We took the shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo. One of the first things we did in Tokyo was visit the Muji flagship store. They had a giant spoon. This display of lanterns is right next to our accommodation in Shinjuku.

The first half of the day was a cooking course making a bento box. Then we headed to the Gion suburb to check out the old part of town.

It's rare to come across a company website of this caliber. Love when people do something different

I'm a little concerned that my entire IG history is now sitting on an unavailable server :-/

I guess I could host my own Pixelfed instance...?

Reading this site has thrown me deep into the nostalgia. If you're a web developer then this is a must read.

Jeebs—time is nebulous. 24 years ago today I immigrated here from South Africa (via the UK for a couple of years of pint drinking).

I think I'll celebrate that with a few pints tonight!

Tough day. Battling whatever this awful bug is that’s going around — and even harder, we had to say goodbye to our beloved 17-year-old cat, Zoe.

    RIP, old girl.

My beloved Kitchenaid Mixer just died... Anyone know of local repairers? I took some of it apart to see if it was something I could handle. I couldn't handle. I think the gears might be stripped.

"It’s worth saying it out loud as an affirmation: making things is not about the destination, but about the journey. The journey is what you put into creation: the thought, the mistakes, the sweat, the time, the lived experiences, the refinement in technique. What you get back is knowledge. The output is an artifact of that knowledge. When you get that artifact without the journey, you make nothing, you learn nothing."

Can I get a "Hells Yeah"!

JSM articulates his thoughts on AI...

"As someone who has spent their entire career and most of their life participating and creating online, this sucks. It feels like someone just harvested lumber from a forest I helped grow, and now wants to sell me the furniture they made with it."

It saddens me when a web publication doesn't have an RSS feed. It's not hard. You just lazy.
