…blows the dust off his blog

April 10th 3 comments

My guess is that this post is going out to a non-existent audience…I know if I was following this blog I would have unsubscribed ages ago. So to my friends and family, this is for you!

To claim I’ve been too busy to post stuff here would be a cop out (and a lie) so I’ll slightly rephrase and say I’ve been too lazy to post here…I’ve been totally preoccupied with the three T’s: TV, Table Tennis and Twitter.

The purpose of this post is to wax lyrical about Twitter.

Twitter is an awesome concept developed by the lads at Obvious. They’re smart and I like them.

Twitter is probably the simplest web2.0 thingie out there. It is - simply put - micro-blogging. You have 140 characters to answer the following question: What are you doing? You can use the twitter website, your IM client or your mobile phone to immediately send the message out to your fellow twitterers who have chosen to ‘follow’ your twitter stream. These followers see everything you send to twitter. I guess you could think of it as bulk texting or IMing.

Describing it as I’ve just done doesn’t really give it credit: this is a highly addictive pastime! As proof why not look at the six hundred odd tweets I’ve thrown out there since November.

So sign up - be my twitter buddy! But remember…this is addictive!

I have to say, the thought of replacing my blog with a feed from my Twitter account has crossed my mind more than once. I just don’t seem to find (read: make) the time to write proper posts these days, but firing off a quick two-liner is pretty damn easy. Not so good if you actually have something to talk about at length, but tempting nonetheless ;)

Heh - yeah…Seems quite tempting. What you could do (cos it’s all the rage these days) is create a web stream.

Have a look at my one.

Welcome back Darren, just a few months ago you guys were convincing me to do stay into the “blog” ( no I’m not going to finish saying osphere ).

Mike, I reckon it’s best to keep um separate.

I reckon this would help the “web trail” http://co.mments.com/
