About

This Site

Above all other things, Dontcom is the personal site of me, Darren Wood. I try to write at least one post a day. That isn’t a promise, just an observation.

Dontcom is about web design, the internet and may also contain some unfocused rambling about all sorts of other things. It is my website so prepare yourself for anything. Dontcom is written from the heights of the city and the shores of Browns Bay.

You’ll find that most posts on this site allow for user comments so please make use of the feature and leave your comments behind.

This site is built with love, CSS, XHTML, PHP and Wordpress. Dontcom is designed with you in mind. If you have any accessibility issues, or technical problems please contact me.

I am a web developer, interface designer and web geek based in Auckland, New Zealand. I am the founder, and administrator of The New Zealand Web Developers Forum and am a core member of The Web Standards Group.

I am very focused on web standards and user-centred web design and would happily spend every day improving and honing my web skills.

Have a look at a small portfolio of my design work.

Currently I’m into the following things:

  • Semantic Markup
  • Web Standards
  • CSS
  • Digital Photography
  • Flickr
  • XML Syndication
  • NZ Music
  • Large sans-serif typefaces (go helvetica!)
